So whilst I'm super excited to hear that Kate will be using Hypnobirthing techniques to deliver the third Royal baby and surprised to hear what we do described as new. Thousands of mums have taken hypnobirthing courses so far and are having more positive birth experiences because of it.
It's lovely to get the Royal seal of approval and it's great that midwives everywhere are becoming more familiar with the technique. The Times reports that her midwives will take a 2 day intensive course in the next month or so - the same one that I did to become a teacher myself.
So what are the likely benefits of using Hypnobirthing techniques when you have your baby?
Many women experience a more comfortable and sometimes pain free birth.
Hypnobirthing mums often have shorter labours.
Partners will learn how to support mums and take an active and vital role in the birth. You really can work as a team.
Baby will arrive into a relaxed and calm environment, ready to bond, feed and start it's like in your family, clear headed and drug free.
Mums can often recover quicker after a Hypnobirth as usually less interventions and drugs are needed.
Doesn't that sound good? If it's good enough for Kate....
